Farmers
WIC clients can buy approved fresh produce from farms, farmers markets and roadside stands. Farmers must be approved by the WIC Program.
Colorado farmers can become an authorized WIC vendor to accept eWIC benefits in exchange for locally grown fruits and vegetables. Authorized farmers can sell their produce at approved locations including farms, farmers’ markets, and roadside stands.
A farmer is defined as an individual/sole proprietorship, partnership, non-profit or corporation who owns, leases, rents, or sharecrops land in Colorado to grow, cultivate, or harvest fruit and/or vegetable crops on that land. Entities, who exclusively sell produce grown by someone else, such as wholesale distributors, will not be authorized.
